The two teams were Airway Lanes #4 and Emerald Q #1. According to the Moe Crook format the two teams were to play the best of seven ’01. With the start point value based on the Hughes handicap system (-200 points) this set Airway Lanes #4 starting score at 568 and Emerald Q #1 starting score at 692. The VP called on the two team captains to the hockey line. The choice of coin toss was given to Airway Lanes #4. The call was “tails” and with that said the coin was flipped and the 2006 Moe Crook was set in motion. With the bounce off the floor the coin came up “heads”. Airway Lanes #4 chalked all odd games. Airway Lanes #4 won the first two games Emerald Q #1 won third game. Airway Lanes #4 won the fourth game. Emerald Q #1 won the games five and six setting up a seventh and final game. The seventh game came down to the exciting conclusion of both teams needing to hit a double one for the win. The chalker sat down as both teams were now poised to win the 2006 Moe Crook.
